RBS beefs up Asia equities team
Ronnie Lim, Ning Lim, Steven Chang and Mary Beth McNamara join the cash equity sales team in senior roles while Hank Terrebrood joins as a senior cash equity sales trader

The Royal Bank of Scotland plc (RBS) has announced several appointments to its Asian equities team to facilitate the expansion of the business in the region.

 
Ronnie Lim, Ning Lim, Steven Chang and Mary Beth McNamara join the cash equity sales team in senior roles while Hank Terrebrood joins as a senior cash equity sales trader.
 
Jazil Ghias joins the equity derivative sales team. Chang will be based in London and Ghias will be based in Stamford. Both will be responsible for delivering Asian equities products to clients in Europe and the US respectively. The other new hires will be based in Hong Kong.
 
Peter Irvine, head of equities for Asia-Pacific, says these hires are part of an integrated strategy to increase the scale of RBS’ equities business in the region. 
 
Ronnie Lim joins the firm from hedge fund Climate Change Capital. Prior to this, he was head of research SRI at Morley Fund Management from 2003 to 2007 and he also worked in equity sales at CLSA and Cazenove previously.
 
Ning Lim was most recently employed at Bank of China International and was responsible for Hong Kong and China equities sales having previously worked at Citigroup, DBS Securities and OCBC Securities.
 
McNamara joins RBS from CLSA where she was responsible for Asia equity sales as a director joining in 2003. Before this, she worked for ABN AMRO and Lehman Brothers.
 
Terrebrood joins the company from Daiwa Securities where he has worked since 2008 in a similar role. Prior to that, he worked at Pali International Asia Private Limited, KBC Financial, J.P. Morgan and Credit Suisse.
 
Chang joins from Diverso Management Private Equity Fund and Ghias joins the company from Merrill Lynch.
 
In recent months, RBS has been building its Asia equities business, by making several appointments. Abhinav Gorawara joined as managing director, head of equity and structured retail sales and Ben Wilder as managing director, senior structured product sales, among others.
