Asset manager Threadneedle has named Daniel Isidori as fund manager, Latin America. He will join the Asia (ex Japan) and global emerging markets equities team headed by Vanessa Donegan and will be the lead manager for Threadneedle’s investments in Latin America.
Isidori, who is Argentinean, brings significant experience in managing Latin American equity funds. He joins Threadneedle from Baring Asset Management, where he co-managed a USD1 billion Latin America active equity fund. Prior to joining Baring in 2008, he worked at HSBC Asset Management where he managed a USD200 million Brazil active equity fund and an Argentinean active equity fund.
He will take over as lead manager of the 1.2 billion pound Threadneedle Latin America Fund launched in November 1997.
Donegan comments: “His appointment follows the recruitment of Irina Miklavchich as a global emerging markets (GEMs) portfolio manager in February, and brings our Asian and GEMs fund management capability to full strength with a total of six portfolio managers. It comes at an exciting time when we are seeing a lot of interest in the Latin American region from our clients globally, so this high calibre new addition to our talent pool both deepens our fund management capability and enhances Threadneedle’s ability to raise assets across our various distribution channels globally”.
As of December 31 2010, Threadneedle manages over 6.1 billion pounds of assets in Asia (ex Japan) and emerging market equities.
