Asian investors to get introduction on Kazakh investment opportunities in HK forum

Raising capital for Kazakh corporates on Asian stock exchanges, opportunities for Kazakh energy companies in China’s natural gas market and the country’s privatization programme investment prospects highlight the first Kazakhstan-focussed capital markets conference for Asian investors. The Kazakh Equity Capital Raising & Investment Forum in Hong Kong will be held on September 30 at the Island Shangri-La.

 
The event will introduce regional investors to the Kazakh market and investment opportunities, with presentations by major companies such as oil and gas firm Kazmunaygas (KMG) Exploration and Production; utilities corporate KEGOC and oil and gas infrastructure company KazTransOil.
 
A major feature of the forum focusses on China-Kazakhstan investment and economic ties which will include presentations from Kazakh financial groups as well as a panel discussion with Kazakh and Hong Kong financial and economic experts.
 
This high-level event will bring together investors based in Hong Kong, Singapore and other Asian financial centres and Kazakhtan’s key government officials and senior executives from major companies.
 
Hong Kong Finance Secretary John Tsang will lead the speakers and presenters. He will be joined by Ronald Arculli, chairman of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange & Clearing; Aidan Karibjanov, deputy chairman of Samruk Kazyna; Peter Foster, CEO of Air Astana; Lawrence Fok, chief marketing officer of HKEx; Paulina Mcgroarty, head of EMEA listings on the Singapore Stock Exchange; Wang Fanglu, senior managing director of CITIC Capital; Christian de Charnace, head of corporate finance at BNP Paribas Asia and Adrian Chu, head of Hong Kong Capital Markets Group, Ernst & Young.
 
A distinguished line-up of officials from the Kazakh government and high ranking executives from Kazakh corporates will also participate in the event.
 
The full day session is hosted by the Asset Forum in association with BNP Paribas, SB Capital, Ernst & Young and the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hong Kong and Macau SAR.
