State Street Corporation has appointed Kevin Wong as head of sector solutions for the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Hong Kong, he will report to Wai-Kwong Seck, head of State Street's Asia-Pacific global services and global markets businesses.
Wong will be part of the senior leadership team leading the business development efforts across State Street's Asia-Pacific businesses. His core objective as head of sector solutions will be to deliver new revenue opportunities and build a strong pipeline of business for its core and growing markets across the region. Wong is one of State Street's three regional sector heads. Stefan Gmür serves as State Street's sector head for Europe, Middle East and Africa and Scott Fitzgerald heads the function for North America.
Wong joins from Citibank where he was China country manager for their securities and fund services business. He has held senior positions at Bank of New York Mellon, Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, gaining more than 19 years of experience in global custody, fund administration, securities lending and cash management across various Asian markets.
He replaces Chris Taylor who was recently appointed to head of State Street's global services and global markets businesses in Australia, based in Sydney.
