China Agroforestry Low-Carbon Holdings has invested 10 million renminbi (US$1.62 million) in a biomass fuel base located in Lianzhou in Guangdong province with designed capacity of 30,000 tonnes per year. The production base is expected to commence production by the end of September 2014.
Together with the biomass fuel base in Jiange county in Sichuan province, the group’s annual production capacity of biomass fuel energy will be increased to 60,000 tonnes.
China Agroforestry has started operation of its first biomass fuel energy base in Jiange in early 2014, with an expected annual production capacity of 30,000 tonnes. For the six months ended June 30 2014, it produced about 11,000 tonnes of biomass fuel.
The Sichuan energy base will be used as the group’s standard and its production model will be replicated to regions and provinces such as North Guangdong, Beijing and Tianjin, Hebei and Jiangsu where there is serious problem of air pollution, the company said in a statement.
