The Asset Benchmark Research has unveiled the top-ranked analysts, economists, credit strategists, salespeople and traders in Asian G3 fixed income in 2014. Over 580 individuals were nominated by investors this year.
The Asian G3 Bond Benchmark Review, introduced in 1999, asks investors to nominate the best individuals in this segment. Nominations for individuals are weighted and ranked according to the portfolio of the respective investors. Among those who have ranked this year are veterans Edwin Chan, Johanna Chua, Stephen Mak and Dean Wang, who have all been highly ranked for the past five consecutive years or more.
The best analysts, economists, credit strategists, salespeople and traders also give their outlook for the Asian G3 bond market in the year ahead in an article coming out in the October issue of The Asset magazine. Top analyst Edwin Chan takes a neutral to positive view citing “wider credit spreads over US comps” as the driver for excess return. First-ranked credit strategist, Viktor Hjort, in contrast is negative and argues the market environment is “more about avoiding fallen angels and stressed credits”. Top trader, Dean Wang, has a neutral view but expects China reforms to continue to “dampen sentiments and cloud longer term views”.
