HSBC has appointed Dojin (DJ) Kim as chief executive officer of HSBC Securities (Seoul) and head of capital financing for Korea.
Kim joins HSBC from Goldman Sachs where he was managing director and head of the Korea financing group. He will be responsible for overseeing all businesses within HSBC's Korean securities company, which include primary capital markets, fixed income, mergers and acquisitions and equities sales and trading. He will also spearhead the delivery of HSBC's capital financing product suite, in particular, debt capital markets, equity capital markets and mergers and acquisitions products to our clients.
He will report to Stephen Williams, head of capital financing for Asia-Pacific, in Hong Kong.
Kim worked at UBS and J. P. Morgan before Goldman Sachs. His capital markets experience includes work in Korea, Hong Kong and New York, primarily in ECM and DCM, as well as M&A.
He holds an MBA from University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in science in industrial management from Carnegie Mellon University.
