Barclays has named Warren Deats as managing director, head of programme and ETF trading, Asia-Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, he also heads cash facilitation in Asia ex-Japan. He reports to Vikesh Kotecha, head of equities trading, Asia-Pacific regionally and to Jeffrey Radtke, head of portfolio trading, on a global basis.
Deats joins Barclays from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he was managing director, head of programme trading and ETF trading as well as co-head of cash facilitation. Prior to that, he held positions in cash equities trading at Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank in both Hong Kong and London.
The appointment of Deats, comes shortly after the arrival of Greg Lee as director, head of electronic equities trading, Asia-Pacific. Lee joined Barclays from Deutsche Bank in September to lead Barclays’s algorithmic and direct market access trading business in the region.
