Citi names new managing director for Sydney
Citi has appointed Ian Maxton as managing director and vice-chairman for investment banking in Sydney, effective June 1
The Asset 4 May 2015
Citi has appointed Ian Maxton as managing director and vice-chairman for investment banking in Sydney, effective June 1.

Maxton joins from Nomura, where he was most recently senior adviser and previously managing director of investment banking. He will support Citi’s relationship efforts across the entire banking platform and provide senior coverage support to the financial institutions team, led by Scott McMullen.

Maxton has been a trusted adviser for over 30 years, particularly among financial institutions. He has worked closely with clients including private equity firm KKR, Westpac Bank as well as the Federal and New South Wales Governments.

Maxton's appointment bookends the bank’s significant commitment to financial institutional clients, commencing with the appointment of Stella Choe as head of financial institutions corporate banking last October and the appointment of Tom Cribb as director, financial institutions investment banking last month.
