Tan Siew Meng has been appointed to the newly created role of regional head global trade and receivables Finance (GTRF) Asia Pacific (APAC), with effect from 1 July 2015. This is a new role that brings together management responsibility for GTRF Asia Pacific, including Hong Kong and Macau.
Siew Meng, currently CEO of Thailand for HSBC, joined HSBC Singapore in 2004 as Director of Corporate & Institutional Banking and has since held various positions including Head of Commercial Banking (CMB) Singapore and CEO Mauritius. Based in Hong Kong, She will report to Noel Quinn, regional head of CMB ASP, and Stuart Tait, Global Head of GTRF.
Commenting on the appointment, Noel Quinn said: "Siew Meng brings to the position a wealth of strong commercial and global banking experience, and in leading businesses in Asia Pacific. She will be responsible for leading our GTRF solutions for Commercial Banking and Global Banking customers in the region and ensuring the sustainable growth of this strategically important business to HSBC, the world's leading trade bank."
A successor for Siew Meng as CEO of Thailand for HSBC will be announced soon.
