DeAWM leads winners in The Asset ETF Asia Awards 2015
Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM) was named the Best ETF Provider – Asia in The Asset Triple A Asia ETF Awards 2015, which recognizes the accomplishments of leading exchange-traded fund (ETF) products and service providers in the region’s booming ETF industry.

Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM) was named the Best ETF Provider – Asia in The Asset Triple A Asia ETF Awards 2015, which recognized the accomplishments of leading exchange-traded fund (ETF) products and service providers in the region’s booming ETF industry.
 
This is the third straight year that DeAWM has won the distinction of being the best ETF Provider in the region, having also won the award in 2014 and 2013.  
 
The Asset Triple A Asia ETF Awards 2015 is an offshoot of the The Asset Triple A Private Banking, Wealth Management and Investment Awards, where the ETF award used to be a key component.
 
In view of the industry’s rapid growth, The Asset decided to expand the ETF awards to include new categories, recognizing some of the industry’s major contributors and leaders.
 
Best ETF Provider by country
 
DeAWM was also recognized as Best ETF Provider for Hong Kong and Best ETF Provider for Singapore. The company currently has the largest ETF product offerings in Hong Kong and Singapore.
 
BetaShares won the award for Best ETF Provider for Australia. BetaShares has been at the forefront of development and innovation in Australia’s ETF industry, which has grown over 50% a year for the last three years.
 
First Metro Investment Corporation (FMIC), a unit of the Metrobank Group, was the Best ETF Provider for the Philippines. FMIC has launched the first and only ETF in the Philippines known as the First Metro ETF.
 
Yuanta Securities Investment Trust Company was named Best ETF Provider for Taiwan. Yuanta remains the largest ETF provider in Taiwan and has been the first to launch leveraged and inverse ETFs.
 
BMO Global Asset Management was recognized as a Rising Star ETF Provider for Hong Kong. The Canadian asset manager entered the territory’s market in the late 2014 with three specialized products: a US dollar bond fund, a high-dividend equity fund and a Hong Kong banking sector fund.
 
Best Participating Dealer
 
First Metro Securities Brokerage Corporation, a unit of the Metrobank Group won the Best Participating Dealer for the Philippines award.
First Metro Securities is in charge of creation and redemption of shares for the First Metro ETF.
 
DBS was recognized as the Best Participating Dealer for Singapore. DBS differentiates itself by having a dedicated ETF research unit.
 
Best ETF Market Maker – Asia
 
Commerzbank was recognized as the Best Market Maker for Global ETFs (Europe and US ETFs). Its strength in the European and US markets allow Commerzbank to service market making requirements Asian investors who invest in global ETFs.
 
Optiver won the award as Best Market Maker for China ETFs. Optiver’s strength in the QFII/RQFII ETFs makes it the top market makers for China-related ETFs.
 
Best ETF Market Maker by country
 
First Metro Securities Brokerage Corporation was also recognized as the Best Market Maker for the Philippines. It provides market making for First Metro ETF.
 
Best ETF Broker
 
First Metro was also named Best ETF Broker for the Philippines.
        
Meanwhile, DBS won the award as the Best ETF Broker for Singapore. DBS dominates the ETF broking business in the Southeast Asian country.
 
Best ETF Exchange
 
The Tokyo Stock Exchange won the Best ETF Exchange in Asia award for its support of the largest, most mature and complex ETF landscape in Asia, buoyed also this year by the good performance of Japanese stocks.
 
Best Index Provider for ETF
 
S&P Dow Jones Indices was recognized as the Best Index Provider for ETF – Equity. Two companies bagged the awards as Best Index Provider for ETF – China: FTSE as best global provider and Shenzhen Securities Information Company as the best domestic provider. MSCI was named as the Best Index Provider for ETF – Emerging Market. Markit was recognized as the Best ETF Provider for ETF – Fixed Income.
 
Most innovative ETF products
 
The BetaShares Australian Dividend Harvester Fund was recognized as the Most Innovative ETF Product for Australia. The fund which aims to provide investors with exposure to large-cap Australian shares, along with a strong income stream comprising dividends and franking credits, was the largest contributor to new money flows for the company out of the new funds launched over the award period.
 
The BMO Hong Kong Banks ETF won the Most Innovative ETF Product award for Hong Kong. This thematic based ETF that provides diversified exposure to Hong Kong listed banks achieved achieved +24.17% return and 80% growth in asset size since its launch.
 

The Yuanta Daily Taiwan 50 Bull 2x ETF and the Yuanta Daily Taiwan 50 Bear – 1X were both recognized as the Most Innovative ETF Product for Taiwan. Yuanta SITC was first to the market with the two products after Taiwan’s regulators allowed exotic ETFs in the late 2014.  The two ETFs offer leveraged and inverse exposure to Taiwanese equities.
