J.P. Morgan Asset Management Japan appoints new president
JPMorgan Asset Management (Japan) Limited has announced the appointment of Shoichi Ohkoshi as its new president, effective September 1

JPMorgan Asset Management (Japan) Limited has announced the appointment of Shoichi Ohkoshi as its new president, effective September 1.

 
Ohkoshi joins the asset management business from JPMorgan Securities Japan Co., Limited where, since 1994, he has gained extensive experience across fixed income, foreign exchange and equities sales as well as derivative products development and marketing. Most recently, he has held dual leadership roles as the Head of Fixed Income / Equities Sales & Marketing at JPMorgan Securities Japan Co., Ltd. and Head of Fixed Income Sales & Marketing at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., Tokyo Branch.

Morgan Global Investment Management. “He has successfully built a strong client network across institutional investors, corporate clients and distributors through his long-standing experience in sales and marketing. His in-depth insights into the financial markets will also be immensely helpful to our clients in all aspects of their business. Japan is an extremely important market for J.P. Morgan and we see great growth opportunities in the investment trust business. I am confident that, under Shoichi’s strong leadership, our business will continue to strengthen and grow,” he continued.

I have no doubt that he will drive our asset management businesses in Japan to the next growth stage while leveraging his experience and knowledge.”
 
Simon Walls, the current Chairman and President of JPMorgan Asset Management (Japan) Limited, will continue to serve as Chairman of the company, maintaining operational oversight of the business, and will work closely with Ohkoshi and other members of the Board of Directors.
