Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ appoints head of newly formed event finance team
The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (BTMU), a member of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. (MUFG), today announced the appointment of Mr. Sanjeev Kumar as Deputy General Manager and Head of Event Finance, Asian Investment Banking Division. The Event Finance team is a newly created unit which aims to support international corporate clients’ on their increasingly complex financing and investment needs across Asia (ex Japan) and Oceania

The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (BTMU), a member of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. (MUFG), has announced the appointment of Sanjeev Kumar as deputy general manager and head of Event Finance, Asian Investment Banking Division. The Event Finance team is a newly created unit which aims to support international corporate clients’ on their increasingly complex financing and investment needs across Asia (ex Japan) and Oceania.

 
Kumar will lead the Event Finance team in identifying, originating and structuring event-driven financing opportunities by working closely with BTMU’s regional corporate banking teams and product offices.  Kumar joins BTMU on September 1 and reports to Koichiro Oshima, general manager of Asian Investment Banking Division (AIBD). Kumar will be based in Singapore.
 
AIBD is a Head Office business unit, responsible for the promotion of corporate and investment banking products and services in the Asian region (ex Japan). AIBD currently focuses on four key areas -- project financing; securitization; loan syndication and structured trade financing.
 
On this appointment, Oshima said, “Sanjeev’s appointment and the wealth of experience he brings will ensure BTMU is well positioned to capture the growing demand for complex financing deals as companies continue to leverage on the Asia-Pacific region as a growth driver. Sanjeev will play a critical role in enhancing our ability to provide global clients with leading edge insights and advisory for their financing needs.”
 
The appointment of Kumar is part of BTMU’s overall strategic intent to leverage on senior and international banking talents to further spur the growth of its global corporate and investment banking business.
