Citi has appointed Amol Gupte as Citi country officer (CCO) for Singapore and head of Asean, pending regulatory approval.
In this role, Gupte will oversee all of Citi Singapore’s businesses and operations and lead Citi’s Asean cluster of markets. Gupte will relocate from Hong Kong to Singapore and continue to report to Asia Pacific CEO, Francisco Aristeguieta. He succeeds Michael Zink who is retiring after 28 years at Citi. Pending regulatory approval, Patrick Dewilde, Singapore-based head of Asia Pacific markets and securities services, will serve as interim Singapore CCO.
A 27-year Citi veteran, Gupte was previously regional head of treasury and trade solutions in Asia Pacific, which provides integrated cash management and trade finance services to multinational corporations, financial institutions and public sector organizations in Asia and across the globe. Previously Gupte served in a number of senior TTS roles in North America, EMEA and Asia. He started his career with Citi in the consumer bank in India with roles in sales, product management and treasury.
