Deutsche Bank has announced the appointment of Phumchai Kambhato as chief country officer, Thailand succeeding Frank Krings.

In addition to his new responsibilities as chief country officer, Kambhato will also hold the role of head corporate finance, Thailand. He will report into Gunit Chadha, Deutsche Bank CEO Asia Pacific, in his country management capacity and also to Richard Gibb and Simon Roue, co-heads of corporate finance, Asia Pacific. The appointment is effective immediately.

Gunit Chadha said, "Thailand is an important market for the bank in Asia Pacific.” He said Kambhato, who led the bank's investment banking business in Thailand with distinction, is particularly well-placed to provide leadership to develop and expand the bank’s overall business in Thailand.

At Deutsche Bank's annual press conference in Frankfurt on January 28 2016, co-CEO Juergen Fitschen said, "Deutsche Bank Asia Pacific revenues in 2015 exceeded 4 billion euro. which was up 14% on 2014 with all businesses growing at double digit percentages."  He said the bank will not reduce its focus on Asia or any individual market in the region.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2013, Kambhato had wide ranging financial services experience with organizations in Thailand, Singapore and London including UBS Securities, Bualuang Securities, Jardine Fleming and Robert Fleming & Co.

Deutsche Bank has had a branch in Thailand since 1978 and offers a comprehensive range of products and services to clients from financial advisory to equity or debt capital raising to cash management, trade finance, foreign exchange, risk management and securities services.
