ANZ on April 13 announced that it has received regulatory approval for the appointment of Vishnu Shahaney as president director, Bank ANZ Indonesia, reporting to group executive international Farhan Faruqui.
He will be taking over from Joseph Abraham, who will be leaving ANZ at the end of his term after more than seven years in the role.
Shahaney has been CEO for ANZ Singapore since 2010, during which time he was instrumental in building the Singapore business into a qualified full bank and one of ANZ’s two regional business hubs in Asia.
Throughout his career with ANZ, Shahaney has held a number of senior management positions across corporate, institutional, transaction banking and risk in Australia, Singapore and India.
His previous roles include managing director, corporate banking, Australia; head of risk for corporate and private bank, Australia; head of transaction banking and specialized lending, Asia Pacific, Europe and America; acting CEO for Asia and managing director for Greater Mekong.
