Citi has appointed Morgan McKenney as head of cash management for the Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) business in Asia Pacific. In this role, McKenney is responsible for the management of payments and receivables, commercial cards, channel and enterprise services, as well as the TTS Innovation Lab in Singapore.

McKenney reports regionally to Amol Gupte, the Asia Pacific head for TTS, and globally to Ebru Pakcan, global head of payments and receivables, and is based in Hong Kong. McKenney succeeds Tony McLaughlin, who has moved to the TTS business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

McKenney has been with Citi for 13 years in a diverse range of global and regional leadership positions. She was most recently based in London as the global business head for cross border payments, helping corporate, financial institutions and public sector clients make payments globally to empower their business.

Prior to this role, she was chief operating officer for the TTS business globally and was chief operating officer for Citi Transaction Services for the EMEA region. In addition, McKenney held the role of chief financial officer for Citi Transaction Services globally and was the chief of staff for the chief operating officer of Citi, based in New York. She began her career at Citi in the strategy group of the corporate and investment banking division.

Commenting on the appointment, Gupte says, “As digitization and fintech continue to drive new client needs and business models, we see many opportunities to bring our cash management business to new heights."

Pakcan adds, “The global cash management space has become increasingly exciting in recent years with digitization enabling innovation, increased efficiency, standardization and transparency.”

Before joining Citi, McKenney worked in the New York office of London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange and traded equities and derivatives for Martin “Buzzy” Schwartz, an independent trader based in Boca Raton, Florida. She began her career as a management associate at Capital One Financial in Richmond, Virginia.
