DBS Group Holdings on September 1 announced the appointment of veteran banker Shee Tse Koon as new group head of strategy and planning. He joins DBS from Standard Chartered, where he was most recently CEO of its Indonesia franchise.

The 46-year-old Shee has over 22 years of banking experience honed across a range of front and back office functions, as well as stints in different regions, including Asia, the Middle East and the UK. Prior to his posting in Indonesia, he was head of governance (Europe, Middle East, Africa & Americas), based in the United Arab Emirates, as well as chief information officer and head of technology and operations for Standard Chartered in Singapore.

Shee will report to DBS CEO Piyush Gupta and be a member of the bank's group management committee (GMC). He will help to develop and implement the ongoing strategy for the bank, including providing thought leadership and counsel to the senior leadership team on major strategic issues. He will also be instrumental in operationalizing the bank's organic and inorganic initiatives.
