J.P. Morgan AM appoints CEO for Australia GIM
J.P. Morgan Asset Management has appointed Rachel Farrell as chief executive officer and country head of Global Investment Management (GIM) Australia.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has appointed its head of sovereign and institutional, Asia Pacific ex-Japan, Rachel Farrell, as chief executive officer (CEO) and country head of Global Investment Management (GIM) Australia. 
In this newly created role, Farrell will oversee all of JPMAM’s operation in Australia and will assume direct responsibility for both JPMAM’s Funds and Institutional businesses in the country.  Stephen Alcorn, head of Australia Institutional, and David Hallifax, head of Australia Funds, will report to her.  She expects to relocate to Australia early next year and over the coming months will work closely with the teams on the ground during the period of transition.
Farrell relocated to Hong Kong after being named head of sovereign and institutional, Asia Pacific ex-Japan in 2014, and since then she has been instrumental in leading and developing the institutional business in the region, building on JPMAM’s leadership position.
In her new role, she will continue to report to Patrick Thomson, international head of Institutional Clients, GIM and will also report to Michael Falcon, CEO of Asia Pacific, GIM as country head and on matters relating to the firm’s Australian funds business.On an interim basis, Farrell will maintain her current position until a successor is appointed in due course.
