APAC bank exposures to war in Ukraine mostly indirect
Most banking systems in the Asia-Pacific region have minimal direct exposure to the fallout from the war in Ukraine, according to Fitch Ratings. However, the rating agency says there could indirect effects on their creditworthiness through the conflict’s impact on global prices, interest rates, supply chains and macroeconomic performance, particularly if the violence is sustained over a long period.
