Independent asset manager Raffles Family Office has appointed Stella Kong as managing director for Greater China, a newly created role in which she will split her time between Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Kong, who reports to the firm’s founder and chief executive officer, Chiman Kwan, is tasked with driving strategic growth in Greater China and pursuing opportunities fuelled by the rising need for wealth management services.

She has over 30 years of experience at major global financial institutions in Greater China, including acting in senior roles at Credit Suisse and Standard Chartered Bank.

“Her depth of knowledge and insights will enable us to capture the enormous opportunities in the mainland Chinese market and deliver growth,” Kwan says.

The appointment follows the formation of Raffles China, a joint venture with wealth management fintech platform iFAST Corporation in October 2019, and numerous strategic hires by Raffles Family Office, including the appointment of industry veteran Simon Lints as strategic advisor in April 2020.
