China Railway 18th Bureau begins construction of world's tallest hotel tower
Dubai project aims to become tourist attraction similar to Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab towers
Michael Marray 10 Jun 2020

China Railway 18th Bureau Group has begun construction work on the world's tallest hotel tower, located at the Dubai Marina, which aims to become a tourist attraction similar to Dubai’s other high-profile buildings.

The project is being developed by Dubai-based The First Group, an integrated global property developer with a portfolio of upscale hotels, residential properties, food and beverage brands, and real estate asset management services.

Ciel Tower is The First Group’s largest and most luxurious project to date. It will reach a height of 368.6 metres, and will have 1,100 rooms and a 320-metre high-altitude open-air swimming pool. It has been designed by UAE-based architects NORR.

As the world’s tallest hotel, Ciel aims to become an attraction for locals and international visitors to the city, following in the footsteps of other high-profile buildings in Dubai, notably the Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab towers. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2023.

China Railway 18th Bureau Group is a unit of China Railway Construction Corporation, and is involved in the construction of highways, railways, hydro projects, skyscrapers and metro systems around the world.
