The Asset 17 Nov 2020

Natixis Investment Managers (Natixis IM) has made three senior appointments in Taiwan as it continues to develop its retail and institutional investor businesses in the local market.

James Chen was appointed as general manager of Natixis IM Taiwan. Chloe Tai and Sophia Huang have been appointed as associate directors of the firm, focusing on institutional investor business.

“We will maintain close co-operation with our local master agent CTBC Investments on the retail side, and also do our best to provide local institutional investors with more diversified and comprehensive investment solutions,“ said Chen.

Chen joined Natixis IM Taiwan as director in 2009 and has nearly 20 years of experience in Taiwan’s wealth and asset management sectors. Prior to his current role, he was mainly responsible for developing Taiwan’s retail business.

Chloe Tai, who joined the firm in November, brings her experience in the insurance sector and legal background. Prior to joining, she was an investment manager at TransGlobe Life Insurance; before working with TransGlobe, she worked as a legal manager at CDIB Capital Group in Taiwan.

Sophia Huang, who joined Natixis in Singapore in 2004, was appointed as institutional associate director. Prior to her current role, she was a customer service manager for over a decade in Taiwan.

Natixis IM Taiwan has registered more than 10 funds from four of its affiliates – Loomis Sayles, Natixis, Harris Associates, and DNCA – for distribution in Taiwan. CTBC Investments is its master agent for fund distribution in Taiwan.

Natixis IM, owned by BPCE, the second-largest banking group in France, consists of more than 20 specialised subsidiary asset managers around the world and together controls over US$1 trillion of assets.
