Schroders has promoted Lily Choh to chief executive officer of Schroders Singapore to continue accelerating business growth in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

Choh, who will assume her new role from May 2021, will execute the company’s growth strategy across Southeast Asia and oversee the management of the Singapore office, and over 450 employees.

In April 2020, Choh was appointed deputy CEO of Schroders Singapore and director on the board of Schroders Singapore (SIMSL) in addition to her role as head of institutional for Asia-Pacific. She will transition out of her dual role as head of institutional, APAC, by the end of the year to focus on her new responsibilities as CEO of Schroders Singapore.

Choh succeeds Susan Soh, who, as CEO of Schroders Singapore for the last 14 years, has significantly evolved the business in Singapore and the Southeast Asian region. Soh will now focus exclusively on her role as co-CEO of Asia-Pacific alongside Chris Durack, while remaining a director of SIMSL.

Over the past 12 months, Choh has worked closely with Soh to facilitate a smooth transition. “This carefully managed succession process is now complete; as well as ensuring business continuity, it also demonstrates Schroders’ commitment to supporting and promoting existing in-house talent,” a company statement says.

Schroders, meanwhile, has  appointed Amy Cho as head of distribution for Asia-Pacific. She will lead distribution across both intermediary and institutional channels and work closely with Soh and Durack to drive a cohesive distribution strategy across the APAC region. Cho will assume the new position in addition to her current responsibilities as CEO of Schroders Hong Kong
