BNY Mellon names COO for global market infrastructure
Alejandro Perez to help firm maximize opportunities for closer collaboration and product integration
The Asset 9 Jun 2021

BNY Mellon has appointed Alejandro Perez as chief operating officer for global market infrastructure (GMI). Perez is a market structure veteran, having spent the majority of his 25-year career focused on business strategy at several market-leading firms.

In his new role, he will work closely with Robin Vince, vice chair and chief executive officer of GMI, and the leaders across BNY Mellon’s GMI businesses (clearance & collateral management, treasury services, markets and execution services and Pershing) to help the firm maximize opportunities for closer collaboration and product integration.

In his previous roles at Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg and, most recently, at fintech Unqork, Perez established a strong record of not only building and operating businesses, but also developing new products and capabilities. He also has lengthy experience leading relationship management teams and managing complex M&A integrations.
