J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has relocated James Peagam, head of global insurance solutions, to Hong Kong from New York as part of the firm’s commitment to deliver insurance solutions to investors globally and in the increasingly important Asia-Pacific region.
Peagam continues his duties overseeing the firm’s over US$200 billion global insurance business, representing JPMAM’s combined, integrated insurance solutions capability to clients globally and strengthening its client offerings and services in the Asia-Pacific region. He also continues to report to George Gatch, chief executive officer, JPMAM.
After joining JPMAM in 2014 as European head of global insurance solutions, Peagam later expanded his role to leading the business globally. Prior to that, he was a managing director in BlackRock's financial institutions group and held various positions in capital markets and commercial banking in the insurance sector.
“With extensive experience working with insurance clients in different parts of the world and having successfully developed solid bench strength in strategically important markets, including the US, the UK and Europe, Peagam is well positioned to significantly advance our insurance solutions’ presence in Asia-Pacific while continuing our commitment to other regions,” Gatch says. “Asia-Pacific represents enormous opportunities from an insurance industry perspective, with demographic trends over the next decade pointing to a high insurance growth rate.”
