Airwallex, a fintech platform based in Melbourne, Australia, has launched an online payments app on Shopify to enable merchants to accept online payments from global customers.

The Airwallex Online Payments App covers a wide range of payment methods, including Visa, MasterCard and UnionPay bank cards, and more than 30 other local payment methods such as GrabPay in Southeast Asia, WeChat Pay in Asia-Pacific, and Bancontact and Sofort in Europe.

Merchants can also receive settlements in at least seven major currencies, thus avoiding unnecessary currency conversions and related fees, Airwallex says. They are also able to accept payments directly into multi-currency wallets and pay out with borderless cards or transfers.
