OTB Ventures launches tech fund to raise €150 million
EU fund commits €45 million for investments in deep technologies sector
The Asset 24 Nov 2022

OTB Ventures, an Amsterdam-based venture capital firm investing in early-growth technology businesses, has launched OTB Fund II. The European Investment Fund (EIF) has committed €45 million to the new fund, which seeks to raise €150 million.

The firm will use the new capital to continue investing in the deep technologies sector. It will directly invest in tech companies developing innovative scientific breakthroughs across four key sectors: enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) automation, space technology, fintech and cybersecurity, with special attention to climate tech solutions.

The agreement between OTB Ventures and EIF is supported by the InvestEU programme, which provides the European Union with crucial long-term financing by mobilizing significant public and private funds to support a sustainable recovery.

The EIF is part of the European Investment Bank, which is a lending institution of the European Union owned by its member states. The bank finances projects in four priority areas – infrastructure, innovation, climate and environment, and small and medium-sized enterprises.
