Which are the best structured products, derivatives houses in Asia?

Investors have been seeking more principal-protected products and hedging solutions for downside protection. Product providers with cross-asset structuring and sourcing capabilities stood out.

Rising interest rates, trade disputes and increasing market volatility have broadened the investment product offerings of structured products and derivatives houses servicing Asian clients.

“From time to time, we request for new ideas, either themes or different types of payoffs, and we will look at the feedback from our structured product providers,” says a private banker at a Swiss bank in an interview with The Asset. “If an idea is new and good, we go through the internal approval process and start to market the product.”

In 2017, bullish equity markets boosted activities in equity derivatives. The increasing participation of retail investors looking for higher investment return was a major driver of equity linked products and derivatives.
