BOC Aviation to lease ten Airbus aircraft to Colombian carrier Avianca
Singapore-based aircraft lessor will buy 20 new Airbus planes

Singapore-based aircraft lessor BOC Aviation has placed an order for 20 new Airbus A320neo aircraft. A minimum of ten of these A320neo aircraft has been committed for lease to Avianca, based in Bogota, Colombia.

“We are delighted to establish a relationship with BOC Aviation, who are one of the world’s foremost lessors, and we sincerely value the confidence they are showing in Avianca and the support to our long-term plan,” comments Adrian Neuhauser, CFO of Avianca.

Avianca is the commercial brand for the collection of passenger and cargo airlines under the umbrella company Avianca Holdings S.A. With a fleet of 175 aircraft, Avianca serves 76 destinations.

In late December, BOC Aviation delivered the fifth of ten Airbus A320neo aircraft to Air China.

In October, BOC Aviation delivered the fourth of seven Boeing 787-9 aircraft to Air Europa. Also in October, BOC Aviation delivered an Airbus A330-900neo aircraft to Lion Air. These eight aircraft were all from the company's existing order book

BOC Aviation is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and has its headquarters in Singapore with offices in Dublin, London, New York and Tianjin. Its controlling shareholder is Bank of China.
