In line with the Philippine government's efforts to boost financial inclusion and rural development, The Asset Events hosts today a series of in-depth discussions in Davao City around the advancement of financial literacy and how it could prove to be a key tool in alleviating poverty. Inclusive growth will be a key theme of today’s forum.
This is the first time in more than ten years that The Asset is hosting this forum outside of Metro Manila and as a result has re-designed the programme to bring the relevance of banking and finance beyond a small circle of informed experts.
Some key speakers at the event include Carlos Dominguez III, secretary of finance, Philippines and Pia Bernadette Roman Tayag, director of the inclusive financial advocacy, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
The forum will go through a variety of topics on countryside development such as local government schemes to attract investment, the usage of the capital markets to spur provincial growth, impact of technology in poverty alleviation and how to support agri-businesses.
