SINGAPORE - The Asset’s 11th Asian Bond Markets Summit gets underway in Singapore today aiming to add clarity to a 2016 debt market that has seen a number of unpredictable and volatile events.

SINGAPORE  -  The Asset’s 11th Asian Bond Markets Summit gets underway in Singapore today aiming to add clarity to a 2016 debt market that has seen a number of unpredictable and volatile events. One area in particular that's making headlines in the bond space is the move by India and China to further open up their respective markets to institutional investors.
Key speakers at this year’s event include Noritaka Akamatsu, senior advisor, sustainable development and climate change department at Asian Development Bank, Erwin Sta Ana, deputy treasurer, bureau of treasury, Republic of the Philippines, Paroche Hutachareon, director of risk management group, public debt management office, Ministry of Finance, Thailand and Bernard Wee, executive director, financial markets development and payments and technology solutions, Monetary Authority of Singapore.
This year’s summit will focus on a wide range of topics including the impact of China’s bond market to the Asia-Pacific region, the growth potential of green bonds in Asia and how the governments of Thailand and Philippines are approaching their funding requirements for 2017.
