UBS has announced new leadership in its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory business in Asia-Pacific following the departure of Alison Harding-Jones. Greg Peirce and Pei Shen Chou have been appointed co-heads of M&A advisory for the region and will join the Asia-Pacific management committee effective immediately.
Peirce, who is based in Sydney, joined UBS as an intern in 2000 and has been co-head of Australasia coverage and advisory since 2014. Before 2014, he headed the general industrials business in Australasia.
Chou, who is based in Hong Kong, is currently co-head of Asia M&A. He joined UBS earlier this year from Deutsche Bank where he led the German bank’s China M&A franchise. He has over 20 years of M&A experience in the Americas, Europe and Asia, having been focusing on cross-border M&A activity.
Following Chou’s appointment, Samson Lo will become the sole head of Asia M&A.
Harding-Jones, who was appointed head of M&A advisory in Asia-Pacific at UBS in December 2014, left the Swiss bank to move to Citi in London. She joins the US bank as head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) M&A and vice-chairman of EMEA corporate and investment banking.
