Amidst market volatility, investors are increasingly keen to diversify portfolios, seek new investment tools and ultimately, achieve better returns. Exchange traded funds (ETFs), given their flexibility and low-cost feature, are becoming an important component of Asian investors’ portfolios.

While ETFs may be popular in countries such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong, markets in the Asean region have yet to fully embrace this exciting investment product.

In Singapore, regulators are actively promoting ETFs to institutional and retail investors. An emerging trend in the city-state is the rise of fixed income ETFs. Commodity ETFs and smart beta products are adding to the diversity of ETF markets in Southeast Asia. Innovation in indexing and the advent of robo-advisory are expected to bolster adoption of ETFs in the region.

The Asset Events is pleased to present the 2nd ETF Asia Summit 2016, a strategic one-day event, which will bring together investors, asset managers and product providers to discuss and debate the factors driving the development of the ETF market in Asia.
