Credit Suisse strengthens IBCM franchise in Southeast Asia
Bank appoints co-heads of Indonesia and Malaysia IBCM coverage
The Asset 20 Apr 2021

Credit Suisse has announced a number of senior appointments to strengthen its investment banking and capital markets (IBCM) franchise in Asia-Pacific. In a memo seen by The Asset, the contents of which were confirmed by Credit Suisse, Kusnadi Pradinata has joined the bank as co-head of Indonesia IBCM coverage, together with Sandri Supardi. Based in Jakarta, Pradinata will report to Rehan Anwer and Pankaj Goel, co-heads of IBCM for Southeast Asia and frontier markets, from an IBCM perspective, and to Rizal Gozali, vice-chairman of IBCM for Southeast Asia and country head for Indonesia, from a country perspective.

Pradinata and Supardi will focus on driving the growth of Credit Suisse’s IBCM franchise in Indonesia. Joining from Macquarie, Pradinata brings over 16 years of experience to Credit Suisse, having completed over US$25 billion worth in transactions spanning equity and debt capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, structured financings and special situations for primarily Indonesian clients.

Han Ping Lee has been appointed co-head of Malaysia IBCM coverage, together with Mia Idora. In this role, Lee will continue to work with Idora to further develop and deepen the Credit Suisse’s client coverage and origination efforts through the delivery of tailored and innovative investment banking solutions to Malaysian clients.

Reporting to Anwer and Goel, Lee joined Credit Suisse in 2011 from CIMB Investment Bank and has been instrumental in strengthening the bank’s market-leading investment banking franchise in Malaysia over the years. He has established a strong track record in developing key client relationships and has led several recent landmark transactions for clients in Malaysia, such as the 1.5-billion ringgit (US$364 million) IPO for Mr DIY Group and Khazanah Nasional’s US$500 million exchangeable bond into CIMB.

Shaun Wu is appointed to lead the general industrials coverage for Southeast Asia and frontier markets, based in Singapore, and will report to Aaron Tan, head of energy, industrials and infrastructure coverage for Southeast Asia and frontier markets. Since joining Credit Suisse in 2015, Wu has been part of the corporate finance as well as Indonesia coverage teams and has worked on several transactions, including the US$250 million IPO for AllHome Corporation of the Philippines and the US$420 million bond offering of PT Lippo Karawaci of Indonesia.
