French bank Société Générale has appointed Stephanie Clement de Givry as its new head of global banking and advisory for the Asia-Pacific region, reporting to Gaelle Olivier, CEO of the bank for Asia-Pacific, and Pierre Palmieri, global head of banking and advisory.

Clement de Givry, who will be based in Hong Kong, is replacing the retiring Stephen Swift. She has over 25 years of banking experience, mainly in project and structured finance, across various regions with a focus on the energy, natural resource and industrial sectors.

After joining the bank in 1996 from The Chase Manhattan, she has held various positions in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region before moving to Asia where she spent three years in Shanghai and five years in Hong Kong from 2006 to 2014. For the last six years, she has been global head of mining, metals and industries finance.

In her new role, she will leverage her deep knowledge of the finance industry, as well as her strong expertise built over many years within the bank’s energy and natural resources financing team to further develop its global banking and advisory business in Asia-Pacific by offering a wide range of financing solutions and strategic advisory services to clients and having a positive impact on society.

Société Générale has been actively growing its financing and advisory franchise in Asia-Pacific over the past decades, including being a pioneer in supporting sustainable and positive impact finance.
