Frik Dreyer has been named head of leveraged and acquisition finance, Asia-Pacific. He will oversee a regional team of leveraged and acquisition finance specialists responsible for the origination and execution of complex corporate acquisition or leveraged financing in support of the bank’s sponsor-led growth strategy in the region.

Both are based in Singapore. Loo will report to Richard Yorke, head of global corporate and investment banking for Asia-Pacific, while Dreyer will report to Tatsuya Konishi, head of investment banking for Asia-Pacific.

Loo has close to 30 years of experience in corporate and investment banking, covering client segments from SMEs, mid-market and large local corporates to MNCs across a spectrum of sectors. He began his career with Bank of America in 1994 and has since spearheaded the growth of its corporate banking franchise in Singapore and across Southeast Asia.

Prior to joining MUFG, Loo held various key positions with BoA including head of corporate banking for Southeast Asia and managing director, global corporate and investment banking, driving strategic coverage of large-cap clients, financial institutions and public sector entities.

He spent the last 16 years with ANZ, where he led leveraged finance teams across Asia. One of Dreyer’s key roles prior to joining MUFG was head of corporate finance, South and Southeast Asia, for ANZ in Singapore, overseeing a regional team responsible for frontline syndication, project, export, asset and leveraged finance.
