The Asset 13 Sep 2017

Standard Chartered has appointed Ying-Ying Tan as regional head, securities services, Asean & South Asia (ASA).

Tan is responsible for driving the securities services business agenda across the nine countries in ASA and oversees the business’ sales, product, implementation & client management and technology & operations. Based in Singapore, she is accountable for the execution of the business strategic growth agenda in the region.

Tan has more than 15 years of experience in securities services, covering custody/clearing, fund services and corporate trust. Her appointment is in line with the bank’s growth plan for its securities services business, a key aspect of which is to boost bench strength by selectively recruiting experienced industry leaders.

Tan is a member of the securities services management team and will report to Margaret Harwood-Jones, global head, securities services, transaction banking, Standard Chartered, who says, “I am very excited to welcome Ying-Ying Tan to Standard Chartered. Securities services is a people business and I am confident that Ying-Ying’s knowledge, expertise and track record in the region will deliver new value to our clients and to our teams.”

Standard Chartered’s securities services business was re-organised in July 2016, bringing together the bank’s sales, product, service and technology & operations all under a newly-created global business line within transaction banking.
