Natixis strengthens APAC global markets team with key appointments
Firm appoints Viet-Linh Ha Thuc as head of global markets for APAC, Eric Elbaz as APAC head of sales and financial engineering, and Eric Michl as head of equity trading APAC

Viet-Linh Ha Thuc was appointed head of global markets for Asia-Pacific and a member of the Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking Asia Pacific Executive Committee and of the Global Markets Management Committee in April this year. Viet-Linh remains based in Hong Kong and reports to Luc François, head of global markets, and Alain Gallois, CEO, Asia-Pacific.

Viet-Linh joined Natixis in 2015 as head of fixed income, Asia-Pacific, and before taking up his current role, was head of global markets trading, Asia-Pacific. He has over 21 years’ experience across Hong Kong, Tokyo, London and Paris.

Eric Elbaz joined Natixis as head of sales and financial engineering, Asia-Pacific, effective August 12. Based in Hong Kong, Elbaz reports to Elie Bitton, head of equity derivatives and fixed income sales for APAC & EMEA, and global head of financial engineering, and to Viet-Linh Ha Thuc.

Elbaz joins Natixis from Credit Suisse, where he worked from 2001-2019 and was most recently European head of solutions sales in international trading solutions fixed income. Prior to Credit Suisse, Elbaz was with J.P. Morgan from 1999-2001.

Elbaz has a double Master’s in Applied Mathematics from Paris IX and Paris VI.

Eric Michl joined Natixis as head of equity trading Asia-Pacific, on September 2. Based in Hong Kong, Michl will report to Viet-Linh Ha Thuc and Laurent Francois, global head of flow and solutions trading.

Michl joins Natixis from Commerzbank, where he worked from 2006-2019 in London and most recently Hong Kong as head of exotics, vanilla, funds, Asia. Prior to Commerzbank, Michl worked with Exane BNP Paribas in London.

Michl has a Master’s in Business and Management from HEC, Paris.

Jacques Clot has joined Natixis as trading risk officer, Asia-Pacific, on August 21. Based in Hong Kong, Clot reports to Viet-Linh Ha Thuc and Mathias Hugly, head of business resources management.

Clot joins Natixis from Société Générale CIB, where he worked from 2006-2019 as financial engineer, exotic products trader and most recently as head of market activities audit. Prior to Société Générale, Clot worked in the strategy division of Vivendi-Veolia Group.

Clot is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and Telecom Paris (ENST).
