Federated Hermes strengthens sustainable investment offering
Ingrid Kukuljan will lead the impact investing team while Caroline Cantor joins as investment director
The Asset 5 Feb 2020

Federated Hermes has made two new hires in its equity investment teams in the international business. This month, impact investing specialist Ingrid Kukuljan will be joining as head of impact investing while Caroline Cantor, CFA, will be joining as investment director.

Based in London, Kukuljan will be leading the Impact Opportunities team while Martin Todd, European equities portfolio manager, and Mark Sherlock, head of US Equities, will continue to co-manage the Hermes Impact Opportunities Fund. Kukuljan will report to Eoin Murray, head of investment.

Kukuljan’s career in the financial services industry spans 22 years and comes with a proven track record of alpha generation, asset raising and a commitment to investing sustainably. She joins Hermes from her role as principal at PDM Capital, managing a thematic equity fund where impact was a core part of the investment process. Using the UN SDGs as a lens to measure impact, her investment approach was closely aligned to that of our impact opportunities strategy at Federated Hermes.

Prior to this, she spent nine years at Jupiter Asset Management as fund management director where she managed the EMEA portion of the Global Managed Fund and co-managed Jupiter’s flagship emerging markets fund.

She also played a central role in the successful launch of the first funds in Jupiter’s SICAV range. Ingrid was included in Citywire’s first ever global compilation of 1000 Best Fund Managers. She started her career at Lazard & Co.

Cantor will support Kukuljan and her team as a client-facing representative for the Hermes Impact Opportunities Fund, interfacing with external client stakeholders and enabling the investment team capacity to maintain close management of the impact portfolio.

She will also support the Hermes SDG Engagement Fund and broader global equities strategies, reporting to James Cook, head of investment specialists, based in London.

Cantor joins Hermes from Columbia Threadneedle Investments where she was the client portfolio manager for UK Equities from 2015. She previously spent six years at Threadneedle Investments, most recently as project analyst and completed an internship and work experience with Welbeck Wealth Management and Mirabaud Securities LLP.
