Mastercard appoints marketing, comms SVP for Asia-Pacific
Rustom Dastoor appointed as senior vice-president of marketing and communications for Asia-Pacific
The Asset 20 Feb 2018

AS part of its promise to deliver greater value to its consumers and customers, Mastercard has been working to deepen synergies between its marketing and communications teams in the region. The company’s recent appointment of Rustom Dastoor to the role of senior vice-president of marketing and communications for Asia-Pacific, marks the completion of this organization-wide effort.

In his new role, Dastoor will spearhead the functioning of the team as a critical business driver, collaborating closely with stakeholders and leveraging marketing assets and sponsorships to drive differentiation, acquisition, preference and usage campaigns. He will also continue to drive Mastercard’s positioning as an innovative payments technology company through a significantly enhanced and integrated digital and social footprint. Finally, Dastoor will also focus on deepening consumer engagement through Priceless – the company’s long-standing marketing platform – which is underpinned by its four pillars of Priceless Cities, Priceless Surprises, Priceless Causes and Priceless Specials.

Hailing from Mumbai, India, Dastoor joined Mastercard in 2014 and has held global roles in marketing strategy and operations, issuer and B2B marketing. He was most recently senior vice-president of global B2B marketing, based at Mastercard’s global headquarters in New York.

Prior to joining Mastercard, Dastoor worked for Ogilvy & Mather and was engaged in helping BlackRock, the world’s largest asset management company, build a retail brand and strengthen its corporate reputation in North America and Europe.
