The need for a common language in green finance
The Asset 11 Jun 2018

Investors need a common language in green finance, says Aldo Romani, the European Investment Bank’s deputy head of funding, euro. He shaped the first ever green bond in 2007. Addressing The Asset 12th Asian Bond Markets Summit in Shanghai, Romani explains why green finance needs to keep it simple as it taps the mainstream market. Issuers also need to be transparent about a project’s environmental impact. Scientific reasons are behind the lack of clarity in definitions, and Europe and China — the motors of green finance — are working together to bring standards into line.

Recorded 30 May 2018 in Shanghai. We hope you enjoy the video.
