Credit Suisse has appointed Eric Winarta as head of Indonesia coverage in its Asia Pacific Investment Banking & Capital Markets (IBCM) department.

Based in Jakarta, Winarta's focus will be on driving the further growth of Credit Suisse's IBCM business in Indonesia, where the bank has built a leading franchise over the past 20 years. In this role, he will be responsible for broadening the bank's relationships with entrepreneurs and corporate clients in the local market as well as delivering the full range of Credit Suisse's integrated bank offering.

He will report to Pankaj Goel and Rizal Gozali, Credit Suisse's co-heads of IBCM, Southeast Asia.

Goel says, "We are delighted to have Eric lead our IBCM coverage in Indonesia, delivering the full breadth of Credit Suisse's capital markets and advisory capabilities to our clients as well as broadening our client footprint in this market which is an important part of our leading Southeast Asia franchise."

Gozali says, "This appointment underscores our commitment to further grow our award-winning franchise in Indonesia. Credit Suisse has established one of the largest on-the-ground investment banking teams amongst our international peers in the local market, and we are proud of our role as a trusted advisor to many of Indonesia's leading entrepreneurs and corporates."

Credit Suisse's Indonesia franchise received accolades last year from Asiamoney (Best Corporate and Investment Bank) and from The Asset (Best Corporate and Institutional Bank – Global, Best M&A Advisor and Best Equity Advisor).
