BNY Mellon Investment Management has appointed Eric Yu as vice president, institutional distribution.

In this newly created role, Yu will focus on driving business growth and opportunities for BNY Mellon’s eight leading investment firms, specifically focusing on the Greater Bay Area. Based in Hong Kong, Yu reports to Jessie Zhang, head of distribution, Greater China.

Yu brings over 12 years’ experience spanning both portfolio management and institutional distribution. He was most recently at Bosera Asset Management, where he was executive director, sales and client service. Before this Yu was a director, portfolio manager at China Southern Fund Management, and prior to this a fund manager, fixed income and absolute return team, at China Investment Corporation.

Jessie Zhang, head of distribution Greater China, BNY Mellon Investment Management, says, “Eric has a proven track record both as a portfolio manager and working with institutional clients across the region to build relationships and grow assets. Additionally, Eric has worked in Shenzhen and Hong Kong which will be hugely beneficial as we grow our presence in the Greater Bay Area.”
