The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has appointed Jennifer Kong and Abhinav Sinha to the institutional equity derivative sales team for Asia-Pacific.

 

Kong will be based in Hong Kong while Sinha will be based in London and both will report to Ted Tsao, head of institutional equity derivative sales, Asia-Pacific.

 

Kong and Sinha will focus on improving product and distribution capability in the institutional flow client space. Kong will focus on the institutional flow client space in the Asia-Pacific while Sinha will be responsible for marketing the Asia-Pacific equity derivatives platform to the UK and European client base.

 

These new appointments follow the October 2009 appointment of Ted Tsao and his mandate to expand the distribution of Asia-Pacific equity derivatives products to a wide spectrum of global institutional clients.

 

"These strategic hires for the Asian flow equity derivatives products highlight the continued commitment of RBS in building up the institutional client business and the renewed pursuit of targeting the hedge fund space," Tsao says.

 

Kong joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where she was based in Hong Kong since 2005. Prior to this, she worked in investment research at Goldman Sachs in New York. She holds a BA from the University of Chicago.

 

Sinha joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the United Kingdom, where he has worked in a similar capacity since 2006. He holds Masters degrees from the London Business School and the Indian School of Business and a BA from Bowdoin College in the US.
