Westpac Banking Corporation (Westpac) has named June Fu as general manager, Shanghai branch and head of multinational corporations, China.

Based in Shanghai, she will be responsible for management of the branch and will focus on growing Westpac’s strong business franchise in China. She will report to the head of Greater China and Hong Kong branch, Andrew Whitford.

Her appointment further strengthens Westpac’s senior team in China, and follows recent hires including Zha Zhongmin as general manager Beijing branch and head of financial institutions, China and Raymond Wang, head of renminbi capability who is also leading Westpac’s Shanghai Free Trade Zone sub-branch preparations.  The sub-branch will open later this year following an approval in March 2014.

Fu joins Westpac from The Bank of Nova Scotia where she was the regional director, Greater China and general manager, Shanghai branch. She brings with her a wealth of expertise in the banking sector, with almost 20 years’ experience in corporate and commercial business, risk management, trade finance, banking operations and general management.
