Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI), part of Old Mutual Wealth, has hired Richard Mo to the newly created position of head of China business.
Based in OMGI’s Hong Kong office, Mo joined on 15 August, reporting to Carol Wong, managing director, Asia Pacific.
In his role, Mo will develop relationships with regulators, global financial institutions and distributors in the region.
Mo joins from a 16 year career at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, during which time he has held a number of positions in a distribution capacity, as well as building client relationships across Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. His last role, as head of China Retail Business, saw him responsible for wealth management and client development in retail markets in China, dealing with both Chinese and foreign banks. He was a member of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management China executive committee.
The appointment comes just a few weeks after the announcement of Gerard Clancy as head of sales, Southeast Asia.
