BNP Paribas wins mandate for Harvest ESG ETF
Bank to provide fund services for Chinese firm’s sustainability-themed offering
The Asset 10 Mar 2021

BNP Paribas has been appointed to provide fund services for Harvest Global Investments’ new CSI 300 ESG Leaders Index ETF. As part of the mandate, BNP Paribas Securities Services will provide a comprehensive range of fund services including global custody, fund administration, trustee, transfer agent and participating dealer.

The mandate win follows the build-out of BNP Paribas Securities Services' exchange-traded fund (ETF) capabilities.

Harvest is one of the largest Chinese institutional asset managers by assets under management, serving both institutional and retail clients.

Thomas Kwan, Harvest’s chief investment officer, says: “The Harvest CSI 300 ESG Leaders Index leverages Harvest’s proprietary ESG framework to identify [environmental, social and governance] factors material to the China onshore market. It provides investors with a more sustainable exposure to China’s A-share market while offering the potential for additional alpha.”
