Financial messaging provider SWIFT has announced that its Alliance Lite2 is beginning its pilot phase next month and is expected to be live in the summer of 2012. Expanding on Alliance Lite, Alliance Lite2 is the new, secure ‘cloud-based’ connectivity that supports higher message volumes, all SWIFT message formats and standards while providing access to all services offered over the network.

Alliance Lite2 builds on the success of SWIFT’s Alliance Lite product, introduced in 2009, by providing an easy, cost-effective and direct connection to the SWIFT network through a cloud-based solution. Through this option, low- and middle-volume customers can leverage a SWIFT managed and operated connectivity option without on-site equipment, providing them world-class levels of security and reliability free from the need to maintain their connectivity and messaging infrastructure on premises.. Alliance Lite2 can also be utilized as a safe, secure and cost-effective emergency ‘lifeline’ alternative to a full-fledged backup system.
