MSCI names new head of Asia-Pacific client coverage
Kazuya Nagasawa is a MSCI and investment industry veteran
The Asset 1 Mar 2021

Ratings and index provider MSCI has named Kazuya Nagasawa, its current head of North Asia client coverage, as its new head of Asia-Pacific client coverage, overseeing the firm’s sales, client relationship management and client service teams.

Nagasawa, who will be based in Tokyo and report to Alvise Munari, global head of client coverage, has served as MSCI’s head of North Asia since 2012.

Prior to joining MSCI, he worked within the quantitative investment strategies group at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM). He took on overall responsibility for that group within Japan in 2007 and sat on the executive committee of GSAM Japan.

“In his nine years with MSCI, Nagasawa has been instrumental in growing the MSCI business in North Asia,” Munari says. “His breadth of experience in the investment industry and deep knowledge of our clients in the region will lend themselves well to MSCI’s future growth in Asia-Pacific.”
